Who I Am: From GRWM Videos to Hot Mess

I'm Alix Earle, and for a lot of people it all started with a get-ready video. Here's a short guide to the woman behind the merch, for new viewers and old ones.

Where am I from?

I'm Alix Ashley Earle, and I was born on December 16, 2000, in Monmouth County, New Jersey. I graduated from Red Bank Catholic High School in 2019 and then headed south to the University of Miami, where I studied marketing and graduated in 2023.

How did I get started?

In February 2020, as a freshman at the University of Miami, I began posting on TikTok. My audience grew fast once I started sharing a very ordinary moment: getting ready.

What is a GRWM video?

Get Ready With Me videos are exactly what they sound like. I do my makeup and pick an outfit while talking honestly about my day, my plans and whatever is on my mind. It feels less like watching a creator and more like catching up with a friend before a night out.

What is Hot Mess?

In 2023 I announced my own podcast, Hot Mess with Alix Earle, produced by The Unwell Network, the podcast company led by Alex Cooper. The name says it all: life, friends and the messy parts, talked through out loud. Most of our designs carry the Hot Mess name in one way or another.

Did I really go on Dancing with the Stars?

Yes. I competed on season 34 of Dancing with the Stars in 2025, partnered with Val Chmerkovskiy, and we finished second, just behind Robert Irwin.
